PIETRA

Solidità fermezza movimento tempo spessore

What’s the voice of the rock?

I discovered this unique portal during one of my treks in the Tuscan mountains.

It’s one of those places that takes a moment to truly realize what’s in front of you.

I stopped there, observing the place and listening to the sound of this natural amphitheatre, feeling its energy. I saw a portal in the rocks. I saw the fragility of the rocks, I felt that this wall was opening up is its soul. There were many elements that I felt connected to: a small puddle of water at the foot of the rock wall, the stone itself, as the meaning of my name, Piero/Pietra, the sound of the leaves, and the thousands of sounds that silence contains.

I wanted to have a deeper communication to it, I wanted to see what was like conversation with this place that was opening up.

I wanted to communicate with it more deeply. I wanted to discover what a conversation with this place, which seemed to be opening itself up, might feel like.

Weeks later, I finally had the chance to return, recording the moment of this encounter. Like an Impressionist painter capturing a fleeting moment, I filmed and recorded it.

This is how Pietra was born.
